At 7am the alarm went off and I lay paralyzed in bed. I had hit my head on the Moonwalk balance beam the day before and starting feeling the whiplash. Carefully getting up, my entire body ached from Saturday’s chaos.
At 8am, we boarded our bags and headed to Krka National Park in Sibenik, Croatia. I ate lunch overlooking a small waterfall with friends in my program. We walked down the path to view the Skradinski Buk waterfall.
The water was fresh and cool, green and blue. You could see several types of fish from the bridge. Croatia constantly impressed me throughout the weekend.
While taking this picture, it took me a few minutes to swim around the Travertine limestone. Though I bumped my knee a few times, I felt like a mermaid swirling through the porous rock.
With a few minutes to spare, we changed behind a small building to avoid the 5-kuna fee for the bathroom. I had 30 kuna in my pocket and figured I might as well spend it. While leaving for the bus I stopped at a vendor to spend the rest of my cash.
Hvala, Croatia! You have been so good to us. One day, I will return. I will sail across the islands, paddle board on the Adriatic, and without a doubt visit the inflatable obstacle course.
