Prepare for Takeoff

I’ve worked six different jobs this summer to help finance my fun in Florence. Though for my last day in the States, I took time off to spend time with my family. However, most of my day was focused on packing.

The challenge: fitting four months into one suitcase.
How does TSA expect me to fit this:

Into this?:
The answer is simple. Check a second bag.
Even after cutting my closet in half I figured it would be worth it to bring another suitcase. This way I could pack a bag entirely of disposable toiletries, food (peanut butter), and detergent pods (I’m a Tide girl). By the end of the semester I should have space for bringing home souvenirs such as wine, leather goods, wine, postcards, and more wine.

The last supper
After several hours of deciding what to bring I was able to find peace during the yoga class my dad and I take every Monday night. We worked up an appetite and treated ourselves to a meal that I knew I wouldn’t find in Italy: Kansas City barbecue.
                                     Oklahoma Joe’s “Z-Man” sandwich
I should be in a food coma by now but I doubt I’ll be sleeping much tonight.
I’m still in denial about what’s about to happen tomorrow.
